Privacy Policy

Effective date: 3 April 2026

FALALA is a daily self-kindness app designed to help you practise noticing good things about yourself. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is stored, and what we do and don't do with it.

What data does FALALA collect?

We collect anonymous usage data to understand how people use FALALA and improve the experience. This includes which screens you visit, features you tap, and general app interactions. The content of your journal entries is never included in this data. We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any other personal information.

Where is your data stored?

All of your data is stored locally on your device only. Your journal entries are saved in a private database on your iPhone and never leave it. Nothing is sent to our servers, because we don't have any servers that handle your personal data.

Do we share your data with anyone?

No. We do not sell, share, or rent your personal data. We use PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to collect anonymous usage data only. PostHog does not have access to your journal entries. You can read PostHog's privacy policy at https://posthog.com/privacy.

Notifications

If you choose to enable daily reminders, FALALA will ask for permission to send you local notifications. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device, no data is transmitted to us or any external service as part of this process. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone Settings.

Analytics

FALALA uses PostHog to collect anonymous, non-identifiable usage data. This includes:

  • Screens and features you interact with

  • App version and device type (e.g. iPhone, iOS version)

  • Session duration and frequency of use

This data is associated with a randomly generated ID that is not linked to  your name, email, or journal content. It is used solely to improve the app experience.

Is FALALA a therapy app?

No. FALALA is a personal self-care tool, not a medical device, mental health treatment, or substitute for professional support. If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, we encourage you to reach out to a qualified professional or a crisis support service.

Children's privacy

FALALA is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Data deletion

Because all data is stored on your device, you are always in control. You can delete your data at any time by deleting the app from your iPhone, which will permanently remove all entries and settings stored by FALALA.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
